Buy XP Pro now with Upgrade or wait?

So, I'm building a new computer.
I'm not sure which is the better option.
Should I buy the XP Pro now and get a free upgrade to Vista
or
Wait for Vista to come out?

I guess I'm just concerened about programs working (or not working) with Vista.
I figure if I buy the XP Pro, I have something to fall back on if my programs don't work with Vista. Although, I'm pretty sure most if not all of my programs will probably work with Vista.

Just curious I guess.

try and wait a week. I know it will be tough but occupy yourself...for a week. then buy vista. move forwards, not backwards. :)

Why not just buy it now, if you're going to be purchasing an OS, and you're sure you want Vista.

Go for the gold man, just make sure all the parts you are buying actually have a vista driver out for them.

It depends. Do you play a lot of games? Most games still play better on XP, but if you aren't really concerned with that, You can just buy VISTA TODAY @ Newegg. Vista has a little app that allows you to run apps in XP compatability mode, that works for MOST software. Apps that probably WON't work, is Anti Virus and utility apps, like System MECHanic. Adobe 8 works fine
