ive got a 250GB IDE drive, its a WD2500JB i was wondering if i could get a IDE to SATA adapter and buy a 250GB SATA hard drive and run them in Raid0
since the drives are pretty much exactly the same aside from the interface would there be any problems caused by the adapter?

You can try it, but it is not recommended to do. It is better to have 2 of the same disks than 2 similar disks. You may run into problems later, but maybe not.

If your RAID controller can do it, then go for it. But there is no real way to tell if it will really work.
