I'm thinking of selling a shuttle SFF PC, and i am wondering how do you guys factor in the price of S/H?
Last time i went to the "UPS Store" they wanted around 40 bucks to ship something that weighed approximately the same as the pc. I'd prefer to use UPS because I find the tracking to be easier.
My issue is, let's say i want to sell the entire system for 300, 40 bucks for a 300 dollar system seems a bit steep doesn't it? Or would you say 320 for the system then 20 for s/h?
Just would like some input here, as I don't want to profit on S/H, I just don't want to lose out on it either.

I'd do half and half for shipping. Or i'll try best to push it for "local pick up" only

I shipped a shuttle about two months ago and it cost me less than $15 via fedex. Normally my policy is less than 3lbs USPS and anything more then fedex. I don't like UPS cause they suck when it comes to delivering shit to me.

Yep, go fedex home delivery....very reasonable and no damage!

You might laugh, but I use an old baby scale, to get a rough idea of how much my package weighs, and then I go to the UPS, USPS ,or Fed-X site. There are charts there, that will give you a pretty close idea of what the cost will be. The UPS store is charging you for packing materials, as well as labor, to box up your stuff. Most full computers I have shipped, have come in at about $20 with insurance. For smaller stuff, USPS has a few different size boxes, that you can get for free from them, and they will even deliver them to your door for free. Flat rate costs $8+.60 for DC, with no weight restriction, and goes priority mail. I save all my packing material and boxes, to use over from orders that I get from Newegg and others. Boxing it up yourself, you can make sure it gets there in one piece. Newspapers and plastics bags don't cut it as packing material.Think of how your parts come to you from Newegg, and duplicate that as a way to send stuff back out.

I shipped 3 2007FPWs in their original boxes at Fedex a couple months back. Although they might not weigh the same as a Shuttle, each box is as big or bigger than what you'd ship a Shuttle in. The guy weighs a box, and says "That'll be $36". Me: "Each?" Him: "No, total." Me: ""
So yeah, Fedex might not be a bad option.

thanks for the replies...
wow fedex huh? Hmm, didn't realize the number ups gave me was using their packaging and stuff. I don't know how good the USPS system is, but from my experience trying to use their tracking website, it doesn't seem to track/update as often as UPS.
I've always thought fed-ex was the most expensive option out of the two. I *might* still have the box the shuttle came in, do you guys think it'd be ok to ship a fully built system in it? It is heavier with the drives and all.
Will defintely take a look at all these options, thanks.

A complete system should be put in another box with the original box inside. You might also want to use bubble wrap inside the case, to protect the components in there. They get jarred around a lot in shipping, and sometimes the HSF comes off, if it isn't well protected from shock.you might want to consider signature required, as this gives the buyer a chance to see the pkg, before he signs for it.That way, he can refuse it, if it looks like it went thru a war zone before it got to him, and protects you, by showing that he received it. Also, pay a couple of bucks extra, to insure it for $400 or so, in the event they run it over or something. When the pkg is marked insured ,I think it gets handled a little better. I've sent out a lot of stuff, and quite a few complete systems, and they always seem to make it there ok.
