I was trying to change a few icons on my system, now every time I double click a file folder to open it, VLC opens and plays all the files in the folder. Any ideas?

that's the same thing that happened to me and so far I haven't found a solution to stop opening folders in a different window. But once your in there create a new action called open3 and set the program to explorer.exe after that make sure you set it so its the default action.
<edit> booyah fixed it myself so here's what you do
1.Do you what I said above calling the action open3 and setting it to default.
2.Go to start-> run -> and type in regedit
3. Once your in regedit do a search for open3 and you should end up with seeing a similar structure to the one below if not search again till you do

4. Delete the entire open3 registry key
5. Problem solved :)

Or you could just right click on the file, open with, and choose the program you want to use. ;)

Oh, so you were clicking on a folder and it opened in its own window? Tools, options, General tab, Browse folders section, and select Open each folder in the same window. At least, this is how I am understanding your situation.
