Hey, just another newb question...when you first put together a custom built to install the operating system do you just turn on the system and pop the CD in and it boots to the disc? I assume you do this previous to driver installs. Anyway just wondering if its basically like reformatting a pre-built system :)

I guess youve got the general idea. If im not wrong...Just go into your BIOS and make sure that CDROM is set as first boot device.

hm... how do you install drivers without an OS? :p Yes, its like reformatting a pre-built (except those that use hidden partitions to "restore' your system)... your drive is empty, so you need to install the OS first, then the SPs... then the drivers.

service packs, like windows service pack 2
make sure you have all your windows updates first, and then install your drivers, you may need to install the Ethernet driver first if it doesn't do it for you.
