I was working on getting my drives up and running I wanted to do some benchmarking before I setup a RAID 5 So I was using Adaptec's ARC Software and formating one of the drives when my computer was shutdown. My IBM ServeRAID no long sees the drive, and on boot it just says drive error and continues. Re-Entering ARC did no good it justs leaves a blank line and no identifications, disk volume etc. I tried to format and it was a no go. I can't see any of the drives in Windows yet because I didn't configure right away. Am I just SOL?

You will likely need a drive recovery tool like Spinrite or HDD Regenerator.
I recovered a drive with HDD regenerator that was put in a PC with an old BIOS that didnt support the size.
The drive was trashed after and just clicked permanently.

HDD regenerator recovered a load of bad sectors (sectors that became mangled) and continued clicking away madly while doing it.
Now the drive works perfectly again!
