For what it's worth:
The public announcement that Windows Vista has been released to manufacturing is going to happen tomorrow, November 8, around 11 a.m. PST.

(I'm not dissing the boxes, I rather like them, I'm just having light-hearted fun)

Don't mix the 2 dates. The announcement here is for bringing Vista to manufacturing and is available to businesses by november 30th. Consumers still need to wait till january 30th.

Businesses (read volume licensed customers) and OEMs historically have had a 2 or 3 month lead on receiving RTM'd versions of MS software.
