Recovering my system is a nightmare so I’m trying to keep it stable as possible. I would love to go back to PC gaming but BSOD freaks me out lol, especially with X-Fi.

So my question is, would BOSD cause damage to the system (corrupt files, instability, random software crashes, hardware failures etc…)?

Software is only seldom able to cause hardware damage, and even then normally requires specific, malicious, code. Don't worry about that.
Depending on what crashes, the others can probably happen. However, if it's the sound card driver that BSODs, I doubt it'll be more harmful than a random power loss. (Granted, this could corrupt any files currently being written.)

And honestly. I've had no BSODs for over a year, and the chance of one damaging something (as opposed to being caused by an existing problem) is very small. This is not what you should be worrying about. :)

A BSOD isn't going to cause hardware damage, but bad hardware could cause a BSOD. If your system is running stable now, that chances are you are just doing needless worrying. Download some game demos and start playing them. If they do okay, get some games and enjoy.
