Fact is, can't get past 3.6ghz. I've upped CPU voltages to 1.4375 volts, and raised RAM voltages up .1v, and it won't run stable at 3.8ghz. I am running watercooling so temperatures are not a problem. 100% load for this chip at 3.6ghz at 1.4v is 50 degrees celcius, so temps are fine.

Should I be upping voltages for any other components for this? Or am I stuck at 3.6 ghz?

Sounds like you've just hit the max of that chip.

What kinda mobo are you using? did you change fsb in bios or went to do pins mod. let me know, i am overclocking PD 805 too

I'm using a Gigabyte P965-S3 (I heard its the same as the ds3 just without solid state capacitors, so I just got the s3 instead)

I guess keep increasing voltage since you're on WC or just call it a day with that CPU. Might be the limit. What does it do on stock voltage? My 805 will do 3.4Ghz on stock voltage in a budget ECS board  .

i am overclocking my PD 805 using pin mod. because i have dell dimension which is not allowed to change fsb in bios. It seems only way to overclock for dell is to do pin mod. i did the following way trying raise cpu from 2.66 to 3.33ghz.

i covered bsel 1 (pin h30) using a small piece of tape and made it high per intel d805 mannual (it's current L at 133 fsb, which is connected to Vss). but the computer didnot boot. should i change the memory using ddr2 667MHz? my current memory is 512mb ddr2 533 MHz. Without oc FSB:memory = 133:266=1:2. if i insulated bsel 1, it will increase from stock fsb 133 to fsb 166MHz. the dell intell 945 mobo should recognize 133,166,200 or even 266 fsb.Does Dell Dimension has a fixed fsb:memory ratio? if the memory ration is the problem that the pc cannot boot? anyone know?

This is why people usually don't overclock prebuilts. 2.66 > 3.33 is a pretty big jump, doesn't leave you much room to play.

I totally agree. but, somehow, i feel to overclock prebuilts is more challenging, and thus more exciting. if you just sit there to do bios change, that easy cake has no fun coz any kids can do it

Can't you use a windows based OCing utility like ClockGen rather than Pinmod? I know my 805 is right at the limit on stock voltage at 3.4Ghz. I'd be a little concerned if I tried to go higher than say 3.0Ghz without the ability to adjust voltage in bios.
