I ordered one of these from NewEgg and set it up this weekend along with a pair of Seagate 7200.10 Perp Drives (320GB Each - Seems to be the sweet spot at $95 Each).

Has anyone here set one of these up?

No issues with the box at all. It's really pretty amazing, but I think I'm doing something wrong as I have two issues.

FTP Server - I wanted to set this up for work related transfers. I assigned a non-standard port for security reasons, set up a Group for FTP transfer users, and created a test user and assigned to the group.

I set up the Public folder as restricted, and available only to those in the FTP group. I set the share up for restricted access.

However, when I did a test login, and then used the back links, it took me to ALL of my shares on the box with full access?

What did I miss here?

Deleting Share folder - I deleted a Share Folder from the server, but when I access the server via UNC (\\server) the folder still shows up.

I really like this thing, but need to figure this out for obvious reasons :)

Thanks !

BTW... Will NewEgg EVER learn how to properly ship a Hard Drive? If you read the reviews for these OEM drives, you see quite a few failures. I haven't seen any of this on sites that ship Retail boxes. Makes me wonder if the inappropriate packing methods they use for OEM drives is causing excessive failures?

The only drive that has failed on me is a raptor 150GB and that was due to a poorly manufactured disk.

Hey guys, any further update on this puppy? It's the leading contender in my hunt for a home NAS. I cannot find any decent 2 drive ready, RAID1, BYOD (bring your own drive) NAS devices on the market but this one really caught my eye. Would love to hear your opinions - pros/cons, etc. Thanks!
