I ordered one of these from NewEgg and set it up this weekend along with a pair of Seagate 7200.10 Perp Drives (320GB Each - Seems to be the sweet spot at $95 Each).
Has anyone here set one of these up?
No issues with the box at all. It's really pretty amazing, but I think I'm doing something wrong as I have two issues.
FTP Server - I wanted to set this up for work related transfers. I assigned a non-standard port for security reasons, set up a Group for FTP transfer users, and created a test user and assigned to the group.
I set up the Public folder as restricted, and available only to those in the FTP group. I set the share up for restricted access.
However, when I did a test login, and then used the back links, it took me to ALL of my shares on the box with full access?
What did I miss here?
Deleting Share folder - I deleted a Share Folder from the server, but when I access the server via UNC (\\server) the folder still shows up.
I really like this thing, but need to figure this out for obvious reasons :)
Thanks !

BTW... Will NewEgg EVER learn how to properly ship a Hard Drive? If you read the reviews for these OEM drives, you see quite a few failures. I haven't seen any of this on sites that ship Retail boxes. Makes me wonder if the inappropriate packing methods they use for OEM drives is causing excessive failures?
