yeah give me a key.
If you go to Microsoft's site, you'll find the same download links, and places to register for a key.

I didn't mean that as a flame towards you. There are a few people on here (and most will agree) that have been trying to play around with Vista, who have absolutely no business trying a beta OS). To each his own, since it is their own computer. You have a spare drive, so by all means, try it out. Reverting back from a dual boot system is fairly easy as well.
I think a few of us were put off by the overall comments, with the kicker being the "get me a key" post. Vista info has been inescapable on these boards, so finding a download link shouldn't take more than a few seconds. Typically, each download link has instructions on obtaining a key as well.

I realize the purpose of the comment, "I hope he's not using it on his primary machine", wasn't how I first read it, but since I am one of the resident MS nuts, I'll admit that I've been using Vista on one of my primary work computers, and WS03 SP2 on the other, both running nightly builds.
Tonight I'm going to install a recent build of Vista on my primary (read: only one that's been unpacked so far) machine, for two reasons. First is entry into a prize pool at MS, and additional prize pools if I post bugs, but second, and more importantly, it's a solid OS now.
There are some rough edges, even in the builds that we've let out to the "public" in the beta. However, Vista is a pretty damn good build of Windows. While I hate to compare things to windows 2000, I think Vista comes very close to emulating the functionality of W2K combined with the not-being-a-pain-in-the-ass that W2K had over XP. Some of the changes will make folks unhappy, I know a lot of folks are sick of seeing LUA messages pop up and ask for credentials. While I don't *like* them, I see their value, and am made happy by the fact that my computer isn't running random executables, and is running even installed executables at proper priviledges.
Vista may not be the be-all-end-all that folks expect from MS, and I'm certainly not as fired up about it as SteveB, but I know that this OS will make a positive difference to a lot of the people who adopt it when they do.
Anyway, I'm gonna stop drinking the purple kool-aide and mention that Vista does have faults. They are not systemic problems, but it isn't the sort of revolution that will encourage everyone to go out and buy an off-the-shelf copy of Vista Ultimate... I find it a fun OS and a usable OS.
I would say that today, while driver support is not to the level that most [H]ardForums folks want, Vista is ready for desktop deployment as a primary OS (barring that whole timed build thing that all the betas have... that'd be a pain if you don't get a full version)
- Jonsey, Windows Servicing PM, and fellow nerd. (My other OS is POSIX-Compliant!)
Note the disclaimer below applies like, four or five times over for this post, I am not offering any sort of official advice, this is just personal opinion, and for anyone who's read this far into my post, I hope I've added something of value to this thread.

You're to late. It's over. 100,000 copies only.
Do the keys we got for the beta work like the did for Pre-RC?
