After I intall a fresh copy of the latest Vista build (5728 atm ) What should I do next? I have heard talk on this forum about disabling some of the services in Vista because they are not needed and slow down the OS.

Also I know I will need to install drivers for my Audigy and ATI X1800xt but are any other drivers needed? Motherboard drivers, Intel chipset, USB, IDE?
See my sig for specs.

What about codecs? Can I still install the K-lite Codec pack for Vista or would that really mess it up. I figure WMP 11 will not play ogl and other types of media.

Also Will winamp work on Vista? I'm not sure about Nero 7.

Does Trillian work also?

thanks for the help.

Viisit the windows update site and select optiona/additional drivers. You may find some of what you need there. As far as software goes, it's a trial and error type of thing. Nero7 does NOT work yet. Remember, this is BETA software, and testing and reporting is what its all about. :D

My roommate got his USB Wacom tablet working under Vista.
