OK, here is my issue with temperature reading on my C2D. To make a long story short, I have a E6300 using a Scythe Infinity cooler adn the chip is running @ 450*7 = 3.15GHz. The motherboard im using (gigabyte DS3) comes with EASYTUNE5 to read temps, etc... and it tells me im idling @ 26/27c loading @ 31/32c.
I've made another post the other day about these temps cause I was so happy that this chip runs as cool as it does, and you all told me this temp reading is WRONG! I was instructed to download an INTEL temp reading program called "TAT" i think..... and it tells me BOTH core temps in a nice windowed program are running @ 39/41c idle and 46/47c loaded. One more thing, I went into the BIOS after heavyly loading the system @ 3.15GHz, and even the BIOS says im @ 26c...... What is going on here. Which reading is the most accurate do you think? INTEL, EASYTUNE, BIOS??? Even if the intel program is right (or most accurate) are those still OK temps to have for this OC im using? Thanks everyone.....

39/41c idle and 46/47c loaded.

extreamly good temps, the thing to realize is they might not all be reading the same thing and even if they are there is a coded formula/conversion utility built in to to change the reading from the sensor into a temp. This formula/conversion program is seldom the same in every program and is sometimes not implemented/written well.

I like the core temp thing as it susposedly reads the diode in the processor and as it is not specific to any one manufacturer it can be compared to readings from another board by a different manufacturer and as long as the processors are the same the readings are comparable.

What is your room temperature?

UM, thanks for the reply, but im getting confussed on what you mean.

With you room that cold - A well ventalated case those temps the C2d may be pretty close. running a e6600 on water at 350x9 for games and its amazing how cool they run.

Have a Noob question on my P5W DH - the motherboard temp sensor is that the Northbridge Temps? or some other part of the MB?

the intel temp readings are probabably from the processor's core. while easy tune is probabaly from temp sensors on the mobo near the processor

OH, that makes sense..... Thank you
