Okay, this is a bit of a silly question, but I'm just being paranoid. I have 2 SATA seagate barracuda's plugged into the same RAID controller of my asus A8N motherboard, but they're not RAID striped, they're just set up as independent disks (JBOD). I just got a 3rd hard drive, which will be used for more backup storage. It's a SATA2 seagate barracuda, and it's plugged into the other RAID controller on the motherboard.
I want to take my copy of Vista RC1 for a test drive for a few days, so I plan on doing the following: Unplugging my 2 hard drives, leaving the 3rd the only disk connected, and installing vista on it. After playing around for a few days, I'd format it and reconnect all 3 disks. Would the 2 original disks still be recognized as per usual?
The only reason I'm being so paranoid is that I'm working some med school/grad school applications. I have backups of all my application info, but i'd lose about 2 precious days of application time if I had to reinstall from a backup. Thanks in advance for your help.
