I built a box w/ a 37 gig sata raptor last spring. It ran great for a while, and then started to screw up. Little junk that signals a OS to need a reformat soon, but way ahead of sched. mine usually last a year. Long story short, it wouldnt boot for the last few weeks, spontaneus reboot during...boot. I moved recently, and finally got time to reformat and be on my way (or so I thought). Now the comp wont even recognize the drive, or go past the boot splash screen, depending on which channel its connected to.

When I connect it to channel 1,3 , or 4, it simply wont recognize it. In channel 2 the thing wont get past the splash. when I turn the splash off, it lists the ide channels and drives and freezes before even complaining about a lack of boot disks.

Mayby those clicks and grinding noises coming outta my box in the last few months meant something? Any ideas before I toss this thing back at the manu?
