"How do I copy drivers from one computer to another

i reinstalled xp pro on my laptop and i cant find th mobo cd anywhere on the net.... i kno a friend that has the same cd... is there away to get his motherboard drivers and put them on a cd and use them???

Can't you just make a copy of his CD? I am confused. If he doesn't have the CD, then most drivers can be found in the windows\system32 directory, so if you can put that on a CD, and point the hardware install wizard at it, you may have some luck.

Surely you can download them somewhere. What motherboard do you have? Where did your friend get the drivers from in the first place?

edit: in your first post you said he had the cd, but in your next post you said he didn't have it. :confused:

no cd came with it but the reinstall cd i tried it and it doesnt install the mobo drivers.....

It's offline at the time of posting this, but that's the official support section for eMachines systems, and the first place to look for device drivers. If you can't find them there you can always use a backup tool like WinDriver Ghost http://majorgeeks.com/WinDriver_Ghost_d1744.html
