Hey guys, I was wondering why I am constantly getting emmory errors in windows. I have 1 gig of corsair platinum with a biostar nf4sli-a9 mobo. I have been running the 2 together for about 2 months now. Then I upgraded to a 3800+ x2 from a 3000+ 64. I had to reinstall for windows to recognize the 2 cores and it ran like that for about 2-3 weeks flawlessly. Then suddenly in the past month or so, I started gtting a bunch of memory errors, about every 10 minutes it wil restart on me and I dont know why. I tested my ram in my friends computer and I tested his in mine and they both work fine. Is my ram just taking a shit on my mobo or something? (I have the exact same ram as my friend except he has 2x512 and I have 1gig).
The funny thing is, windows only runs about 10 minutes, but Linux runs for a good few days before it restarts on me. (about 3-10 days on average, cant really narrow it down). Any ideas on how to fix my piece of shit? Also, I bought a shuttle, but I am waiting for my check to clear so I can technically pay for it, but I commited to buying it. Imm hoping that will solve my problem because Im thinking its just a mobo and ram compatability issue.
Any ideas?
