I am trying to install Windows 2000 on one of my machines. When ever it gets done formatting and copying the install files, it tells me to reboot. So I assumed I had to take out the disk. When I did, it would say "Error loading Operating System." Whats causing this?

are you trying to load it to a RAID array or SATA drive?
Did you load any specific textmode or drivers from a floppy disk for your motherboard?

Another possibility would be the boot order setting in BIOS setup. Most systems will do this if CD-ROM is set to 1st boot device and hard drive is disabled as a boot order option.

@ Bullit: No, just an IDE drive
@ Catweazle : The CD-ROM is first, Hard Drive second.
This machine was running KnoppMyth before, would that affect anything?

Everything's workin now, I just used DBaN and erased the hard drive, then loaded Windows 2000 again and it worked.

Ahh you didnt mention you were running a non-MS filesystem. Yeah, zapping the MBR or zero'ing the first 69 sectors would accomplish what you just did.
