Um, OK, I just finally upgraded last night to SP2 and I changed both these services (Remote Access Connection Manager and Telephony) to Manual, but I can't stop them. Everytime I reboot, they automatically start even though set to manual. How do I stop them? I had them set this way in SP1a without any problems.
All right, this is on my home computer (Dragonslayer) in my sig, but now that I look again it looks like Remote Access Connection Manager was set to Automatic, but set to Manual at work with XP Pro. I guess I just need to know how to stop Telephony now.
Well, to stop Telephony, Rasman will also be stopped and when I say yes neither stops. Unless someone knows a neat trick, I won't worry about it.
How about something else? How do I get this:
"Important
You've hidden important updates
You've asked us not to show you one or more high-priority updates but your computer might be at risk until they are installed. Restore them now"
.....to stop coming up in Windows Updates besides restoring them or switching to Linux? :D
