Im my other computer I have 2 harddrives. The slave drive had windows xp running on it at one point and I am trying to salvage my stuff off the slave drive. But when I try to goto C:\Documents and Settings\username\ Its telling me the directory is not accessable and that access is denied. I cannot access it in safe mode either. I can browse the areas with Paragon, but cannot open or copy any files there. Is there anyway I can get these files back?

Right click on the folder and go to sharing and security. Go to security tab and advanced button and owner tab. Try taking ownership of the directory and see if you can access.

Ok it let me in into the user folder, but everything seems to be protected still, the same method isnt unlocking those folders either.

In the future, you can avoid this by using the same username and password across all home computers. I can honestly say I've tried to replicate this issue, but I've never been able to do it. There are better tools available though, without having to pull the drives. BartPE is a good one for getting to your data.

Well I was on the admin account and added a user with the same name, still not working.

I've never had a problem doing this, with XP Pro. I've even pulled a drive from my in-laws computer (XP Pro), popped it in mine, and was able to access every directory without any types of ownership changes.
