System has 2 hard drives, a system drive 80 gb and a data drive 160 gb, both internal. Recently I've been getting the following message during bootup:
SMART failure predicted on primary master...a failure may be immiment.

Also, the machine locks up sometimes with blue screens and messages like this:
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
STOP: 0X0000007A
atapi.sys or win32k.sys

So, assuming the 80 gb system drive is going bad, the plan is to swap drives to verify this.

Main question, if the drives are swapped, would the system stop crashing?

Also, there is no critical data on the 80 gb drive that appears to be on the verge of dying, but I'd like to continue using it until it actually does fail due to a lack of cash.
