Greetings, while helping a client with a routine Acrobat Reader 4.0 installation i have run across an error i am not familiar with. Any assistance or knowledge is appreciated.

The error reads as the following:

16-bit windows subsystem
c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and windows applications

The client is running windows XP with SP-2 installed. unsure of whatelse would be factored in so im not listing anything

thanks

not sure specifically what to check for, but http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=autoexec.nt&btnG=Google+Search this comes up in google. there are a few things to look at there. MS link - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767

also, what about a newer version of acrobat reader. the most recent version is pretty quick. There's another program called Foxit that is basically just an exe that you don't have to install. put it wherever you want and it just runs. Opens stuff fast and you can add little notes and things. Good stuff.
