Has anyone seen this error message before? I get it all the time, requiring me to click "Ok" 2-6 times before it stops reappearing. Then, after a little break, it'll start again.
It doesn't show up in my process manager so I can't figure out where it's coming from.

Thanks for any help.

Try looking in event viewer for any clues to what is happening.

That's not a real error message. It looks like a trojan or attempted takeover of your machine.

Definitely do some maleware scans. I've seen some crpytic error messages, but that one seems odd.

Plus, if it was a genuine windows error message box, the buttons would be skinned with the royal theme like the border of that window.

I'll tell you 1 thing, that isn't a windows error box!
Thats a "Your computer has been infected, click this button so we can infect it some more" error box.

Run NOD32, spybot, hijackthis, and adaware.

…or better yet, back up your data, format, install XP (with all updates), a firewall, anti-virus, spy-bot, ad-aware, and ccleaner.
According to the last post in this thread (page 2) it may be a conflict between Starforce and a Nero DirectShow filter: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.sur-la-toile.com/viewTopic_14927_4_Error.html&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dwww.sur-la-toile.com/viewTopic_14927_4_Error.html%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff
The solution given is to rename the file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\NeVideo.ax" to NeVideo.ax1

That's what I was thinking

Run NOD32, spybot, hijackthis, and adaware.
I agree, but do it in safemode ;)
Or AVG if you dont have Nod32

Did this, we'll see what happens.
Thanks for pointing this out to me :)
