Lets just say that I dont know jack about Linux. Therefore I should learn something this summer.
Anyway, I was wondering if it would possible to install Suse Lunix (http://www.maj.com/gallery/Psycho/0-so-so-journalistic/howido.jpg)(currently being downloaded from http://download.novell.com/ ) and Windows Vista Beta (http://www.maj.com/gallery/Psycho/0-so-so-journalistic/howido.jpg)(gotten from http://blogs.technet.com/windowsvista/ ) on the same machine.
The specs are as follows:
biostar pos mobo
1.4 thunderbird processor
512 pc133 ram
40gb western digital hard drive
onboard sound, video and nic
If this is possible, how would I go aboput it?
Should I partition anything in a certain way ?
Can you have firefox in Suse? Vista?
Any suggestions would be GREAT!

Sure you can. Partition 20GB and install Vista on it, then partition 5GB with a Fat32 storage drive, and then install SuSE on the remaining 15GB. They should then be covered by the boot manager, and both capable of accessing the common Fat32 drive. You can have Firefox on both.
Hopefully, 20GB will be enough for Vista. It will probably be OK, but slow anyhow.

Yes. You'll need to create a NTFS partition and leave about 10gb free space for your linux partition. (You don't really need that much space, but it's nice to mess around with).
Install Vista first, then *nix. Google for more info. There's a ton of documentation on how to dual boot Windows and Linux.

Yep. Install Winders first and then follow the prompts after the Linux install. Suse will help you partition and set up GRUB which will allow you to dual boot.

The convert tool only goes from fat32 to ntfs. It would have to be formatted to become fat32. If you are repartitioning anyhow, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Beta2 will be horrifically slow on that system... just a heads up.

it's basically what I'm running on right now, except that I've got a DDR board and a 256 meg fx 5700 vid card to help out a little. It's ok for me, with things one at a time, but don't try too much at once. That onboard video is going to kill you though. turn the pretty stuff off for now.

it cant be that bad ....Oh, yes, its that bad. 512mb is bad for beta2 on a recent system, and on an SDRAM rig with a 1.4 tbird? *shudder* I thought it run slow on my system, it was just sluggish.
