There are a number of possibilities.

1. Freak error.
2. Icon cache is full. (do you have lots of desktop icons?)
3. Icon file is damaged. (would probably effect more than one icon)
4. an autorun.ini file has somehow found it's way to your c drive
5. something else.

For starters, go ahead and install TweakUI, to see if rebuilting the icon cache will help. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Its probably not the original icon file as you have a second drive which is using that same icon. I've found that most icon problems can be resolved by doing this:

-Right click your desktop, choose properties, then go to the appearance tab.
-Hit the advanced button. Then in the window that opens, there's a line called "item". In the drop down, choose "icon". Change the size from 32 to 33.
-Apply changes and close all the windows.
-Go back to the advanced section of the appearance tab, and change the icon size from 33 back to 32.
-Apply changes and close all windows.
-Open my computer and hit F5 or go to the view menu and choose "refresh".

If its still not fixed, reboot the computer, but that should take care of it!
