Windows Task Manager

Hi,
I have was looking at my task manager last night and it seems i have a hell of a lot of things listed under processes! Is this normal or do i have a virus or something? when i took the screen shot the only programs i had active where
Norton
Modem Dialer
Winpopup lan Messenger

I don't see signs of a virus, but you have more stuff running than AV and a dialer.

paint, firefox, ipod helpers, java scheduler, dvd helper, (what looks like) a printer monitor.

pretty standard stuff. If you're taking a performance hit, consider using CCleaner or upgrading your ram. If you use CCleaner, READ THE DOCUMENTATION. You've ben warned.

Looks typical to me, but like the user above me said you have more than just those applications running. If they aren't running, firefox for example, you might want to check out other things as the software is not closing properly.

40 processes arent too bad, but like it was already stated, there are a few you could do without.
