I picked up one of these monitors:
ViewSonic VX2025WM 20.1" Widescreen TFT LCD - 1680x1050, 800:1, 8ms (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202310998&loc=101&pageFormat=20&rs=1&#cReviews)
the price with shipping is $355 and I chose free shipping. I also got approved for a buy.com credit card which give you 30% off...and during checkout I got an offer to join Great Fun, to try for 30 days and if I didn't like it I could cancel at any time (its 10$ a month saves on different stupid things) and accepting that offer got me $25 cash back credited to my new card.
So, as long as I cancel the great fun subscription I got this monitor for $300.
$355-30-25=$300
I think its a pretty good deal but, because of the different requirements may not be for everybody. I have craptastic credit, so anybody should be able to get the card.

This is HOT... I spent $440 shipped from buy.com when it first appeared on their website about 2 months ago. This LCD absolutely ROCKS for gaming.

If you don't want to apply for credit or try one of those fishy "trials", ZipZoomFly has the same monitor for $334 with free shipping:

I just wish that were in the OC/LA ad. I'd go buy one right now. I need a monitor upgrade and can't wait for the 2405 / 2407 to drop in price again. Plus, free printer after rebate with all flat panel purchases. Maybe I'll stop by Fry's this weekend to see what they have.
Remember: Today's ad is a 1 DAY ONLY sale. So that $50 MIR in Dallas probably isn't good tomorrow.

my wife has a 2001FPW....its hard for me to compare though, because hers is hooked up digitally, and mine is hooked up via analog. I could try swapping them, but don't know if I would be able to before the fry's sale is over.
Comparing right now, hooked up the way they are, I would say the 2001FPW has way better color and brightness than the viewsonic....but...that is comparing dvi to analog.
