I went into my local EB games last night and they said they had not head when they would be able to start taking pre-orders. I thought I had heard that EB games and game stop were both already taking pre-orders. Is anyone taking pre-orders yet?

I am not sure of anyone taking pre-orders of the PS3 yet.
Waiting for word from a couple SCEA employees I know but they are all busy with E3 right now.

If you are asking about any store taking preorders on the Wii or PS3, not quite yet.

I would implore you to consider the fiasco that occured over the 360 before spending your hard earned dollars on a preorder that may not be able to be fulfilled until 4 monthes later.

Yup. There were places that didn't fulfill PS2 orders until 3 months later, too.
Pre-sales and pre-orders are part of the problem with system shortages. I miss the days when if you wanted a SuperNES or Genesis, you showed up on release day and hoped they had enough. These days every "store for gamers" sells out of systems 6 months prior to release.
