Is there a utility that can analyze a drive and then tell you what the optimum sector size would be? I have a drive with lots of images (around 10mb a piece) and another with lots of video (around 700mb a file:-). They both use 4kb sectors (default for W2K pro).
I have just bought a new drive so I now have enough space to move off all the data and reformat the older drives to their optimum configuration. I would like to know, rather than guess, what the optimum for that drive would be.
Otherwise I will just format them to the largest the W2K will allow (32kb IIRC).
I did do a search but the thread that I found is locked and incomplete.
Thanks, Graham Reeds.
