i been having some major crashes when i'm playing games (CS:S) and it's getting really annoying, i've reformatted ... ran stock speeds, i still can't figure out what's wrong

i've ran HD benches and it seems fine i but perhaps my HD is overheating? the only air it's getting is the PSU fan

idk wut else to think yanno

If your HD is in fact running at 65*C, then that is a fatal temperature. It will not last long running that hot.

You can get a $12 HD fan that screws onto it. Check Newegg or even CompUSSR if you have one local.

Check that with a finger - I don't believe it. 65C is pretty dang hot.

However, it's time to get some more cooling in your case, even if it's cool to the touch. One fan? C'mon. Newegg has this special where you get 10 fans for $10, shipped; search for Masscool and get the $2 fan; there's a bulk discount. I just ordered 30.

I'm pretty sure it'll give you the same temp. The software monitors all pretty much work the same way. Really, the only way to check this is to get an IR temperature thing, but for this purpose a finger works just as well. Open up the case and put your finger on the drive. Decide if it's 65C. Do something about it if it is.

i'm not sure how hot 65C would feel but it feels pretty hot IMO

i put a fan in there, temps didn't change :\ it's nearing 70C now ... lol
