Attention ladies!
Realms of Chaos LAN has once again returned for another LAN party of sheer awesomeness. The date is set for May 19th (9:00pm) - 20th (11:00pm). Not only are we pimping a totally gigabit LAN, but our console pit will be open at noon for all your roxx0r soxx0r action! Come get pwnt on our projector and XBOX360! We'll have food (burgers, hotdogs, chips, candy), drink (various sodas and water) and of course BAWLS! Why didn't I list Bawls with drinks? Because its more related to rocket fuel then it is Pepsi. You should know that by now.
You know, this is good news and all, but I seem to be missing something...oh yeah!
THE NEW ROC SITE IS NOW OFFICALLY UP! (www.roclanparty.com) Come gasp and wonder at its prettiness. Ohhhh, prrreeettyyyy....*ahem* Anyway, We also have a new (but similar) sign up chart. You'll need to sign up to the site to be able to get on the list, but this is to help prevent the spamming and purposeful no-shows we had when we used the open-style seating chart. (Please note: the two rows on the bottom right of the seating chart are located in the basement with the console pit and concession stand.) The site is still under a bit of construction, so if you find any glitches or possible flaws, please message an RoC staff member about it!
You want tournements? We got tournements! In fact, we've got Far Cry, Trackmania, DoA4, and Guitar Hero tournements! We haven't had any Far Cry love for awhile, so we thought it was about time for some more. Also, our Trackmania tourney has our own little twist...it to be held throughout the day in a "boiloff style"...not to mention all the tracks are custom made by our very own Rusty. No one will know what to expect, so no one has an advantage. Don't have Trackmania? Go get it, lazy, its friggin' free!
Details on the Trackmania tourney:
The event will consist of one qualifying round and two tournament rounds. All rounds
will be played on custom tracks designed specifically for this RoC event. All custom
tracks will be available for play at the start of the event. You're encouraged to
install them all and practice on them before the tournament, as some of them can be
challenging.
The qualifier will be on the RoC-Qualifier track. You will use Solo Play during the
qualifier. You will have the length of the LAN to run the qualifier. Your goal is to
get the best time possible. When you are satified with your run, save a replay of it
and inform the staff. They will take a copy of your replay for review, and your
qualifying time will be recorded. You have until one hour before the tournament to
submit your qualifier time.
The top 16 qualifiers will be allowed into the tournament.
The tournament will consist of two rounds.
Round 1 will be Time Attack using RoC-1 and RoC-2. You will have 20 minutes on each
map to get the best lap time. Your combined best total time for RoC-1 and RoC-2 will
determine your final place. The top 4 best times will advance to Round 2.
Round 2 will be identical to round 1, but will use RoC-3 and RoC-4. Again, the best
total time will determine place.
