My harddrive is always working and i'm worried it wont survive for long. Event after 20 minutes I come back and it's still working...
I turned off all document indexing and all antivirus services and it still continues... Task Manager says that lsass.exe is doing the most I/O operations.
I'm on windows xp home edition. Is there anything I could check to reduce the harddrive activity?
Thank you!

lsass.exe is a required Windows process.

Isass.exe (with "I" = capitalized "i", not lowercase "L") on the other hand is a virus.

It might be swap file activity? Hw much RAM u running on? Check if the drive is full or badly fragmented, run a disk cleanup and defragment the drive if thats the case.
