So recently, for whatever reason I am getting this really weird stuttering issue in Windows, whether it's playing a game, video file or just generally browsing, I get this stuttering. Also when I open taskmanager, I'm getting 30% CPU usage even though none of the programs listed are using the CPU.

COD (http://www.geocities.com/zmtong88/cod.avi)

Both the sound and the video stutters, and this happens in Windows also.

Oblivion stuttering sound (http://www.geocities.com/zmtong88/oblivion.wma)

Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

huh...well that's definitely interesting. I'd really be interested to know what's taking cpu time when no processes are listed as using it. at this point I'm gonna have to go with the generic guess and say virus...but that definitely is weird.

Hidden process? Try this, check for rootkits or other hidden processes: http://www.f-secure.com/blacklight/

Did you load the chipset drivers for the motherboard before the video drivers?

try using http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html to see more precisly what is using the cpu.

if it is system interupt it mgiht be bad/curupt drivers

Mine gets like that every once and a while. No viruses, spyware, etc, and I keep it defragged, as well as keep the registry clean. I usually end up taking the easy way out and reformat/reinstall Windows on my RAID. Just seems to be the "nasty" nature of Windows.

Good luck!
