yesterday, i downloaded the new via hyperenon drivers. before i installed them i decided to uninstall the old ones. so i went ahead with that, of course you need to reboot, after the reboot, the machine will not go into windows, period! it will continuosly reboot once it reaches the xp boot screen. i tried safe mode, safe mode with networking and with command prompt, last known good profile, .... the same problem remains. it continuosly reboots and i'm starting to get worried about ruining my lcd or harddrive due to the sudden reboots. my guess is that the via unistall removed maybe SATA and ide drivers in a way the rendered the system unusable .... i'm thinking format but is there another way to fix this?
thanks,
Gatticus

Boot to XP cd and do a reapair install. You won't lose any data or settings but you will need to get the MS updates again after.

Unplug everything on your computer besides your system hard drive, even unplug peripherals.
see if it boots in then.
Sometimes USB driver updates can cause your system to freak out and think you have different devices plugged into diff ports, which will cause your system to reboot like it is. I had to do this on my box, then i plugged in each USB device one at a time in windows so it recognized them again, and rebooted and all was fine.
weird stuff.

To do a repair, you boot from the XP CD and follow the intructions for running a repair install. You should do it with a CD that is of the same service pack level as your install.
