View Full Version : Automatic Backups to second drive?

Hi everyone,

I've finally gone and installed XP on my SATA hard drive, transferring all my files over and such. I then reformatted my 200gb IDE drive and it's clean as a whistle. I'm going to use it primarily for storage and backups, so it's free for the taking right now (so-to-say).

I was wondering if there was a freeware program that could automatically backup files from my main drive and copy them to the storage drive? I have a ton of work-related files in My Documents (more than 12 gigs, at least), so their safety is important. Burning takes a lot of time and disks, so if I could easily back them up to my other drive, it'd be really nice.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

The SyncToy app in the Microsoft XP powertoys will do just that, and applows for scheduling as well. I use it on my corporate laptop to back my files up to my file server.

Where can I schedule it? And what do you think works best for backing up--I'm using echo, but I'm not sure if that's what will backup from left to right and update the right.
