I have the SP1 Version on a CD from the last time I bought the software. Tomorrow I'm going to reinstall WinXP for something, though I'm not completely reformatting. My question is, can I do this? Since installing SP2, do I have to reformat to install WinXp SP1?

It sounds like you're doing a repair install. If you do that your Windows installation will only include the Service Pack 1 updates and you'll have to download all the updates again.
A better way is to create a slipstreamed XP disk that includes Service Pack 2.

re-downloading the updates isnt really an issue for me....as long as it will work. You said it would?

Yeah it should work. Make sure you have your drivers handy as i think you'll have to reinstall them as well.

Beanman couldnt be any more right about the slipstreaming though.
Even if you dont do it for this rebuild.....do it just to have a CD ready to roll for next time

If you download the full install for SP2 and Autostreamer, it will make the new CD for you.
