View Full Version : IE hogging 100% resources

Not sure where to put this. I'm having a problem with IE6. If I set it to work offline and then close it, when I reopen it, it constantly hogs 100% of the cpu in the task manager and never ever loads, just sits at a blank screen. I had to continuously click the IE quicklaunch button to bring up like 50 IE windows and overload the computer, and then it lets me access File > uncheck work offline. After that it works. So basically, I can't take IE online once it's been put offline because it eats up 100% of my cpu resources. What do I do? Thanks for the replies.

I did all that and I'm still having problems. Something that has just started as well is that when I'm using IE I hear a windows beep sound and then my computer completely freezes, no mouse, no ctrl alt del, no nothing. I have to manually reset. Spysweeper found a trojan but it was in one of hijackthis' backup dlls. It as called retro64 I think. Here's my new hijackthis log.
