Ok,
I've read alot on both the Biostar Tforce board and the Foxconn 6150 board. I still am not sure on the one to go with. I would like decent overclock abilities...I'm not looking to set any world records or anything.
I'll be putting an Opty 144 in the system with a gig of ram..most likely some sort of value-ram...Corsair or G-skill, and either a gto2 video card or 6800gs. What I really want out of the motherboard is stability with a little overclock. I'm talking from 1.8 to maybe 2.2 or 2.4.
So which one will it be?? Or for what I'm doing does it matter???
thanks!! :)

You want to OC, but not too much? Take the Foxy and be happy. The Biostar is for [H]core OCers; sometimes you'll get a dud, sometimes a star. Foxys are consistant; they should let you get to at least 275mhz, but not much higher. It will give you a couple more features though. :)

Hi M4rk,
By "Dud" what exactly do you mean?? Will the Biostar board not work, or overclock at all???
I like the automatic overclock option in the Tforce bios...that sounds about my skill level!! LOL
I can build it...I'm just not sure if I can tweak it!! heheh
thanks for the help.

Neither. Get the EPoX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813123262)! It has active cooling on the northbridge, adjustable mem up to 3.2V and allows you to raise the board voltage. It should be at least as good as the Foxconn and likely way better than even the Biostar.
Thread disappeared so everyone forgot about it - try it!!!
If you don't want to go with the EPoX, it would be in your best interest to get the Biostar, because of the 9x multi on your chip, so that's my second choice. You say 2.2-2.4GHz, but once you get it up there and run it at that speed for awhile you will end up wanting to go higher and the Biostar will allow you to do that. I've tried both boards and now have two Biostars.
Here is the (almost) forgotten EPoX thread: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1010171&page=1&pp=20&highlight=epox

What I mean is that Biostars are hit-and-miss boards. You might get a OCing superstar, or you might get a wimp. It's all up to chance. Foxy boards normally top out around 275mhz FSB, so if you get one of those, that's basicly what you'll get.
The EPoX sounds cool, btw. Check it out if you have the cash! We need some people to pick it up and tell Dillusion (in the mATX mobo thread that's pinned at the top of this forum) what features it has.
If you want to do us anotehr favor, pick up DFI's new Infinity mATX mobo. It's based on a ATi chipset instead of the nForce 410/430 that the Biostar/Foxy/EPoX run on, so it's a mystery to how it will perform. Any light your cash could shed on this would be greatly appreciated. ;)

Hey guys,
I've actually considered the Epox board...but since I could'nt find any info on it I decided to pass!! I might actually buy it though....I like Epox stuff.
As far as that DFI board...where is it?? Is it available??? And if so how much??? I'd like to keep it below $75 if possible..
thanks,
Chappie
