Come on Houston people! Come on and show some support. If you don't have a killer rig to bring, that's fine since the game Cyberium has computers that you can use. It's $15 to game for the whole day and with other people in the same room. Come out and meet some fellow gamers. For the occasional gamers, there won't be any real pro gamers there anyways so we can all just kick back, relax, and just have fun playing games. You owe it to yourself to at least try it once.

Hey, all I can say is that the last time this event was held was also the first time ever for me to go to a LAN party. I'm going again. If you've got a problem, ask and maybe someone can help out.

Greetings!!
I am the Server Admin for the GHL (Greater Houston LAN). If you have questions, suggestions or what nots, feel free to contact me either here, through the GHL forums (http://www.the-ghl.com/forums) or email (hoobascank@the-ghl.com). Visit the site and be sure to register on the site, vote on the poll and RSVP your spot. This week we will be posting up flyers for the event at local stores that either sell games, cater to gamers, have hardware for gamers and anything that has general association with games/gamers. We do expect to have the venue filled, so RSVP early and guarantee your spot.
Games that will be hosted are on the site and more may be added depending on the number of persons that wish to play it. There will be NO CS or CSS with GHL. Sorry CS fans. There will be DOD Source though. So, check it out, register and make plans to attend. Should be a great time and fun for everyone.
BTW.. this is an every 4 - 6 week event. The more support the community shows, the bigger / better this whole thing will be.

How come css is not on the list, I just had a lan with 8 ppl and in the end we just end up playing good old css. I got a crew of folks acking to go to a lan .. if you need more support for the game well you can add 5-6 more css players

CSS isn't on the list due to the nature of most lans that we've experienced in the area (personally and collectively) that the CS / CSS players leave when they've either lost or something else is decided upon to play. The purpose of our LAN events aren't to play one game for the entire time, it's to span across different games for a broad experience in all the genres. It wasn't because we don't support it or have the knowledge of how to, I was a game server host provider for 5 years and ranked in the top 10 providers for servers. If there's one thing I do know - it's game servers.
Possibly in future events, we might have CS / CSS added to the list. But we dont see it happening currently. We want our attendees to stay the event and the entire event, have a good time and frag with everyone else. The core group of GHL members are mostly BF2, Quake IV, Quake 3 and FEAR players. We've tried to model GHL after Quakecon, building off it's success as the largest LAN in the US.
