View Full Version : NOD32 update issue
Okay, clean install of WinXP pro, decided not to install NAV 2005 but instead NOD32 after reading all the favorable comments in these forums. I had it installed for a few days before I re-formatted, did not have any problems. Now, I have 25 days left in the trial version but it is having troubles updating itself. It ran fine for the first 5-6 days, but now a warning box comes up "incorrect user name or password". Well, alright, I never set up a user name nor a password, so I do and what do you know, now the name/password box appears when it tries to update, I click OK, says "incorrect username/password" the box again appears etc...Am I missing something? I really liked the small footprint in comparison to NAV.

The password is required on the registered version to access the update server, and if I remember correctly, to install as well. I used the trial for a few days after it expired and all I got was a warning that it could no longer update - never a password dialogue box. Maybe try uninstalling and re-downloading the trial version?

The trial version doesn't update. Your copy is trying to update itself, but since there is no username/password entered in the update/setup configuration you're getting those nag screens.

Uninstall and reinstall trial version. That will fix your problem.
Hey, thanks guys. I was concerned that this may be a know issue, but after digging around I'm satisfied that its not. Anybody know where I can get it at the best price?
