We sometimes do small drinking parties, and LAN parties over here, and I was looking to spice things up with a few new games.

As far as consoles go we have a Gamecube and an Xbox. On the Gamecube we play: Mario Kart DD, Super Monkey Ball 2, and Smash Bros. I was thinking about picking up one of the Mario Party games... but not sure which. Any multiplayer game that can handle up to 4 people that has good replay, is what I am looking for.

On Xbox we have Crimson Skies, Madden06, Project Gotham Racing, and a few others ( I hardly play Xbox) Looking for some good multiplayer action here maybe.. probably not so much because we are going to get a 360 and a PS3 soon.

As for Lan parties... we play all the typical FPS games. What I was looking for was something new and interesting, but not new in age. Like NOX, that was a fun game. We still even play starcraft and stuff like that.

Thanks in advance!

Believe it or not... I have had more success getting people to play 'Drinking Woods' then anything else.

Tiger Woods + Drinking.

I'm not much of a golf gamer but its fun as all hell to see 5-10 grown men huddled around a TV, drinking and screaming for a hole in one, or when someone simply hit a ball in a bunker. I've tried the whole Mario party thing a ma ging ... and non of my friends can stay focused on it for too long, lol.

edit. you mentioned you're getting a 360. They changed the way you swing in Tiger Woods 06 for the 360. You have to move the analog stick back for thrust then push it forward to swing. When drunk, it makes for constant screw ups lol... meaning, you get wasted fast.

I see Mario Party reccomended all the time, but we tried out 7 in our group of friends who regularly enjoy Mario Kart and Monkey Ball 1 and 2. We simply can't get past the kindergarten language in MP7, it's just laid on too thick.

I think it really depends on the group, but we hate it. We can't wait to try out Soccer and Baseball though.

Mario Power Tennis no doubt.

Also, if you have a bit of cash you should really consider getting a PS2 and Guitar Hero. Best party game ever.

If you hang out with adults, The Guy Game is actually pretty fun when you mix it with alcohol and a bunch of buddies. mmmmm... t&a

"PacMan VS." on Gamecube. Requires a Gameboy Advance with a link cable.

Gameboy is packman, other three controllers are ghosts on the big screen.

Mario Sports and Mario Party titles ftw. Grab Mario Party 6 or 7, as they both come with a microphone. 7 is a bit better I think, but 6 has more to do with the mic. Pick your fave sport and choose the Mario Sports title that goes with it, as they are all fun, and great for party-type environments. Also, google "Mario Party drinking games" :D

NOX was a great game.

Fusion frenzy was mentioned here, that is pretty good. (works on the 360 too)

Donkey Konga is a lot of fun with 4 people ;D It might be more of an investment than you're looking for, since you'll need 4 bongo drums.

I love Street Fighter. Or Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Pulling off infinites or parrying 15-hit supers will get a roar from the audience.... even if you don't play arcade games.

Just watch the Evo 2004 Daigo video and you'll see what I mean :)

The mic is pretty cool and I had fun with it. Pretty nifty. I recommend.

I will put in another woot for Mario Party. That game is so funny as a drinking game. I don't think we have ever gotten through a drunken game of Mario Party without someone cussing out Bowser or the wierd sun and moon guys that keep moving the star. The newest one has a mic that you use in some of the games which just turns into beligerant cussing.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Deathrow for the Xbox. It's like this futuristic version of ultimate frisbee: you play with 4 or 5 on a team, running around an enclosed arena, trying to through this disc through your opponents goal. The thing is, you have attack and block buttons, so you can win by scoring the most goals or by KO'ing the other team. It's good for non-serious button-mashing hilarity.

Donky Konga is great too, and a hell of a lot of fun in a group, but requiers more of an investment. Since you own a GC, the general consensus of Mario Party and Mario Sports titles should definately be looked into, and don't forget about Monkey Ball 2. The GC is a great multiplayer system.

Plus the kind of girls who are into "party games" and "multiplayer fun" are usually kind of shady. And 90% of the time you have to pay for them.

You can play plenty of games like that  . I've played under all of those conditions with numerous games ;).
