Looking through ZipZoomFly, these two drives came to my attention:

They are both the same price and same size, yet have different model numbers. What's the difference, and how do these drives stack up performance wise?

One is a later revision, <9 ms seek time, the other is 9.3, scroll down to the details.
On a related note, I love my DiamondMax 300gig 16 meg cache, almost always the first one on servers when I game

Sorry to hijack but how do the IDE DiamondMax 10's compare to the Maxline III's? I see both are still offered at retailers for around the same price.

The real difference is that the "L" version is RoHS compliant, i.e. more environmentally friendly. The seek times should be the same, as they are both really the same drive.
The MaxLineIII uses "premium parts," which gives it a higher MTTF.
