View Full Version : Adding a 3rd Hard Drive
What do I need to get to add a 3rd hard drive to my computer? (a direct link from newegg would be helpful, but anything will help)
My motherboard is a Asus P4P800
i forgot if my drives are SATA or ATA.. but they're the cheaper kind. :D (i forgot which is which)

Well, if you used up all your PATA ports, get a SATA drive.
Of course, now you gotta determine what SATA drive you want to buy. But for the most part, you can just slap the drive in, connect the SATA cable, attach a power connector, boot up, format the drive, partition, and go.

As long as your motherboard has open connections, your BIOS should see and recognize the drive.
