I just hooked up a new external drive and I'm tring to find things to populate it with. It won't be on all the time, so I'd like to use it only as storage. I used to have a program called drivemapper (i think) but now its a paid-only program. Is there a freeware version of any program that will show me which folders take up the most space so I can decide which I want to move onto my new drive?

Thanks.

You can take a look at Spacemonger:
http://www.werkema.com/software/spacemonger.html

Is freeware.

WinDirStat is free. I like its Pacman chomping during its analysis and the resultant 3D tree map display. You can click on the 3D box and the corresponding file is highlighted....

Something slightly different is Microsoft SyncToy. Helps you "sync" files among different directories...
