What kinda software is good for this? Rite now I have a spare computer that I want to use as a place to backup my files. Problem is, its a pain to do it manually (ie copy and pasting to the network drive). Is there software that can automatically do the syncing?

If you use a Linux machine, you can have rsync do the copying, and get archives of past files (that is, see what your My Docs looked like a week ago), without much overhead. See this link (http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rsync_snapshots/). If you're using Windows, you can still use rsync, but not get the archives - they depend on a Linux filesystem feature Windows doesn't do.
