ok so heres the rundown,

bought a new computer
-sff biostar k8vbk-s7
-seagate sata150 250gb hdd

and the only problem i have with it is the serial ata hdd. it recognizes it in the raid setup( im not running raid but i checked when i could not get it to work), but when i go to install windows it says that i have no hdd present. im sure there is a fix for it, what do you guys think

Did your motherboard come with a SATA floppy? Sounds like you need to install the SATA drivers prior to install Windows XP.

yes i had to copy the serial ata drivers to floppy and then f6 them during windows install. i never knew that there was ever an issue like that. go figure

Its a pain in the ass, but you have to do that a LOT of the time.
