has there been a statement made regarding when support will end from win2k, im asking for a friend its his current machine and he was talking about how his school and majority of business run it, and figured id inquire.

Not sure, but win2k ISO's were on the MSDN download site in December 05, and the ISO was gone in Jan this year.

Support != ISO availability... They "availibility" date expired as of March 31, 2005.

That is sad. Windows 2000 was a good operating system. I wish it to live on a long long time. It was great to see the death of Windows 95/98/ME as those were crumby operating systems.

You know, as much as 2000 kicked ass, I'm really not going to miss it when it's gone. After using Server 2003 and XP Pro, I find that using Win2k is a hassle.
