Media Player won't stop opening!!

I just formatted to a clean install of xp pro sp1 and ever since the first windows boot, every 5 seconds or so, Windows Media Player loads. If I leave it there, it steals the window focus. This is VERY annoying! Someone, please help. :confused: :confused:

What programs have you loaded since getting XP to boot up?

Nothing plays, it just opens the program.

And I've installed only a few programs, but it started from the FIRST time I booted, before I loaded ANYTHING.. It's impossible to use it.

You did keep the machine isolated from Internet access, right?

The average time to compromise for a machine with patches that old is something less than 5 minutes if it is connected to the Internet.

That's retarded (windows media player popping up I mean). Format and try again, if it happens again, use a different install disk.
