I think everyone's a tetris fan, it's just not big enough to be hardcore about it.
Now that it's online, it may get hardcore. That'd be pretty interesting/funny.

I remember when it first came out and I played it a little. Then about 5 years ago I was at a friends house and found his gameboy laying around with tetris in it.
Needles to say I spent about a month doing nothing but playing tetris. I use to have nightmares about trying to get those blocks to fit
Now I refuse to go anywhere near it for fear of getting sucked back in to it.

I used to play my Mom in tetris back when I lived at home.
She made a mockery of me everytime we played. That and Dr Mario.

For some reason I never enjoy Tetris on anything other than an original Gameboy or NES.
This news of an Online enabled DS version kinda gave me mixed feelings... on one hand it is a cool idea and sounds like fun, on the other Tetris is kinda like a well beaten dead horse and after 20 years or so it is time to move on.

QFT. The better question would be who isn't a tetris fan? ;)

tetris is a timeless classic...no matter how realistic video games become, few will ever become as addictive as tetris

I was a tetris player back in the day on my old B&W Gameboy. I think I traded some old fighters for it, just because it was addictive. I also played it during class on my TI-83 Plus, but have lost it over the years. Anyone know if there is a Tetris widget? Hopefully for OSX tiger.

I just bought a used N64 with OOT and tonight I am hooking them up to my 61" DLP. I think during the course of the evening I'll pop in my Tetris 64 and have at it :)

Grab Tetrisphere. I can't imagine that the N64 will blow up too well on a 61" HD TV, though... You'll have to sit pretty far away... lol. OOT on the Gamecube looked alright, though, since they threw it into hi-rez mode on that Zelda bonus disc that came with Wind Waker. Street Fighter 2 isn't going to be cheap on the Marketplace, that's for sure.

Tetris is the only game I decided was worth the $7 to install on my Verizon phone.

10 man multiplayer from one cart, move over Mario Kart...
I don't even have 10 friends actually, I wonder if the themes are anything more than a novelty. Puzzle games on the DS have been sold at half the price of most games so far, hopefully this will follow the trend.
Screenies (http://www.britishgaming.co.uk/?p=340), only a month away from release here in EU \o/

Well I'm moving in a month. My tv was boxed in the garage, my video card is dying and I'm craving games. I bust out the N64, dead :( So I get another with 2 games for $20. I assume the image won't be awesome stretched to 61" but :) It sure will be fun.
The first time I played through OOT was on a 25" Tube tv in 1996 LOL. Anyways, I'm definately gong to look into Tetrisphere. Tetris games are the devil, its nearly impossible to stop and with online play ... lol that could be more addicting then crack + WoW. haha.

You ever dreamed of getting squished by giant blocks? Ever watched Captain N? He thought it rocked! :D
BTW, would have been nice if they included screenies.

S*&$ I was droolin at the mouth till I saw the screenies ... reminds me of cheap knock off ... like the ones u can buy from Verizon or better yet the Sprint network. But, at least those have viable excuses for not being as good.
I hate the shadow thing, I know, its there to help, i dun need it. I dont like having previews of 5+ blocks, the original tetris would toss u s*&$ pieces depending on the move/situation you're in, basically, it will line you up with a piece u've got no spot for, BUT thats also predictable and most times workable into some strategy. So with 5+ preview pieces, makes me think there's not even a remote AI or ALGORITHM to it, pure random, not fun. To me, it's like that feeling of multiplayer game in single player mode. THO I bet the multiplayer tetris modes will make up for all of what I just rambled about...
peace..
