Ok so I have 20 Dell Optiplex pc's here at work, 18 of them have been configured the same and sysprepped/cloned out and 2 which were for testing have been rolled out with similar but not all the same group policy settings. So of the 18 machines I can't get ANY of them to prompt the user for a password after it comes out of the screensaver, I've tried every screensaver related setting in the group policy editor but it refuses to work. It even has the checkbox checked for "on resume password protect" in the screensaver tab. But on the other 2 xp pro machines, it works fine. Doh. Theres only 1 user besides admin on every machine, and it also has administrative rights, and has a password set, so I'm at a loss here. Can anyone think of some particular group policy settings which would interfere with the screensaver password prompt or anything to get this working? I even searched ms and came up empty.

Thanks

I figured it out in case anyone else runs into this problem they'll have this in the archives.

Under ->system->ctrl+alt+del options->remove lock computer

if that is enabled it will not prompt you for a password for your screensaver no matter what settings you might have..
